Over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend we headed to Vancouver and thought that a good way to explore some new areas was to seek out some disc golf courses that we had not played before. Since we just started disc golf as a Covid 19 activity about 1 year ago there are many courses that we would like to play in different locations. A few days before we tried the Queen Elizabeth Park course and enjoyed it and one of the people we met there said he really liked the course at Robert Burnaby Park so we decided to try it on Saturday, Oct 9. The forecast was for wind and rain in the afternoon so we headed there in the morning and got in a round just before the rain started.
The course has some relief which is nice and is a good course for beginners since the holes are not too long. It is quite open compared to the wooded courses that we are familiar with in the Comox Valley but it does have some tree cover and a variety of alternate tee offs for those that want to try a new configuration. Since it was our first time we stuck to the regular tee offs and recommend those if you are new to this course. The course is quite easy to follow although on Saturday morning it was busy enough that we simply followed the group ahead of us. But if it is your first time you might want to take a photo of the map at the start which will guide you around the course. We liked the fall colours that were out and would recommend this course to anyone wanting a course suit a wide variety of players. For more information see: www.pdga.com
